2014 Dates: July 26-29 (Sorry this trip Full) & Aug 2-5
Spend 4 fantastic days fishing Gem Lake, Clark Lakes, Algers Lakes, and Rush Creek for Spawner Rainbow, Rainbow/Golden hybrids, Brookies, and Rainbows.
Meet at the Pack Station in June Lake at 7:00 a.m., when breakfast will be served. We will partner you up with a horse to match your ability and then ride into the beautiful Ansel Adams Wilderness.
Our lunch and fishing stop will be beside Crest Creek, where there will be plenty of Spawner Rainbow from Gem Lake. We will then continue on up to our 10,500' base camp in the Algers Lakes Basin. There will be plenty of time to fish that evening for Golden Trout in the two nearby lakes and stream.
After breakfast, You can fish one of the 2 nearby Algers lakes where you can expect to catch goldens from 12-16 inches. The stream that runs behind the camp is good for many colorful goldens up to 8 inches. You can also take a day ride up to the 12,600' pass.
Our emphasis is on catch-and-release, but you are always welcome to enjoy your freshly caught back country trout with your dinner. After dinner, you can tell stories around the fire, look across the valley in search of roaming dear or hit the evening hatch on the lake.
The group will have the whole day to fish Algers Lakes and find your favorite spot. The option for the day ride to the 12,600' pass is still open, as well as laying around the campsite reading in the sun.
