Nestled in the southwest corner of Montana in the heart of the picturesque Gallatin Canyon sits the Rainbow Ranch Lodge. Sandwiched between scenic highway 191 and the Gallatin River the lodge is an excellent staging point for your Rocky Mountain adventure in the big sky state. The lodge's proximity to the highway allows for easy access to Yellowstone National Park as well as Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Resorts. And the convenient riverside location means you can simply cast a line into the Gallatin from your back deck. The Lodge is also backed by more than a million acres of forest service land which means you can go hiking, horseback riding or mountain biking from -RR and see nothing but wilderness for days!

The Fishing:

Rainbow Ranch Lodge is located in the heart of fly fishing paradise. Hone your skills on our trout pond teaming with rainbows or fish the blue-ribbon waters of the Gallatin River out our back door. Local, knowledgeable guides are also available for a walk/wade trip, float trip or horseback ride to wilderness alpine lake for fish tales and wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

Though often considered exclusively a summertime activity, fly fishing in the Big Sky area takes on a whole new light in wintertime. Many of the area’s blue-ribbon trout streams do not freeze over in the winter, and fish are naturally hungry year-round. First timers and seasoned fishermen alike enjoy the peaceful beauty and tranquility of winter fly fishing in Montana.

The Accommodations:

RR’s Riverside Log Cabins

The Riverside Log Cabins overlooking the Gallatin River are a fisherman's paradise. Ideal for a romantic getaway for two or a fly fishing retreat for ten our cabins range from two to five bedrooms and are all just a stone's throw from the Gallatin River. These beautiful cabins feature full kitchens, great rooms, dining areas, fireplaces, and decks overlooking the Gallatin River & Valley and the Porcupine Wilderness Area. Some also feature hot tubs and barbeques.

RR’s Pondside and Riverside Rooms

Pondside rooms are located 15 feet from the trout pond and 120 feet from the Gallatin River. Riverside rooms are located 30 feet from the Gallatin River. All rooms are named after local wildlife (rather than room numbers). These rooms are furnished with fine Italian Anichini linens and a plush down comforter, desk and chair, flat screen TV with satellite television, and wood burning river rock fireplace; a large bath with a tiled shower stall, bath with scented salts, a cozy living room with leather couch, flat screen TV with satellite television, wood burning river rock fireplace, and antique hard wood floors throughout.

Rainbow Ranch Lodge is proud to offer world class contemporary cuisine, originating from the finest and freshest products available. We use a network of small purveyors for fresh, healthy ingredients, which help inspire us to create culinary and visual masterpieces. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed, service is attentive yet discrete, and the views of the majestic Gallatin River are unsurpassed.

Stored through glass panels and river rock columns, The Bacchus Room houses Rainbow Ranch Lodge's award winning wine collection, which is one of the finest in the state. With a capacity of over 5000 bottles, we're able to cellar a wide variety of wines ranging from new world whites to old world reds. Focusing on wines from California, the Pacific Northwest, and many other regions from around the world, diners are always able to find something that appeals to them.
